Proverbs 29:15 NASB95 The rod and reproof give wisdom, But a child who gets his own way brings shame to his mother.
It is true and proven that children thrive in structure. In the lack of structure and order, they will fall into confusion and chaos.
I have had the blessing of being part of a ministry that takes troubled children who have lived in confusion and chaos and found themselves in trouble. They then are admitted to a place of focus, structure, and order. In this, they are shown love through order. Most thrive in this structure. Yet when they leave, often back into a life with nothing but confusion, they again find themselves in trouble.
This Proverb makes it clear that a child who is given an order and punished for not following that order will be given wisdom. A child who is not given order and allowed to do as they please always will fall into trouble causing pain for their parents especially the mother.
This happens no matter the age of the child.
Listen to this scripture. John 1:12 NASB95 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.
We who are believers have become children of God. Therefore we are given structure and order through His word on how we are to live. No matter our age we are still children of God. So we can expect a rod and reproof from God, our earthly parents, and our church when we live in confusion and chaos. When we step outside of the structure of God's word there will be reproof coming our way.
It is difficult, but we should be thankful for it.
Proverbs 3:12 NASB95 For whom the LORD loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.
Show your children love by giving them order structure and a rod or reproof when they leave it.
Thank you, Lord, for reproving and showing me your love.
Thank you to my previous Pastors and current Mentors for your reproof and showing me your love.
Thank you, Mom and Dad, for reproving and showing me your love.
To my children, I reprove because I love and want you to have the wisdom of God.
To the church, I reprove as God's under shepherd because I love and want you to have the wisdom of God.
Love Bro. Scott
