Jeremiah 28:16-17 Therefore thus says the Lord, ‘Behold, I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. This year you are going to die, because you have counseled rebellion against the Lord.’ ” So Hananiah the prophet died in the same year in the seventh month.

Jeremiah, was a prophet of the Lord. He shared with the people words the Lord had spoken. Hananiah was a false prophet serving Satan. Jeremiah warned them of the wages of turning away from God. He gave them the truth. Yet no body wanted to hear it because it did not tickle their ears. They didn't want to hear it because it held them accountable. They didn't want to hear it because it was not comforting to their life.

Hananiah, told them lies that would not happen but made them feel comfortable. He even lied to them and said he was giving them a message from the Lord. They liked this because tickled their ears. They liked it because it meant they are not accountable for their sins. They liked this because they could continue following their own lustful desires and not worry about the punishment.

I look at this and I see the same thing today. People flock to stadiums called a mega churchs to hear lies from Satan that tickle their ears, don't hold them accountable for their actions, and allow them to feel comfortable in their sin.

They get mad at the men of God who preach the word of God because it doesn't do these things. Basically they would rather hear a lie even though it will not come to pass than hear the truth they can completely trust in. Lying is the norm in the world today. It is the way of life in politics, in entertainment, in social life, in family life, and even in the church! Maybe you have even fallen into this deceitful trap of thinking, because a lie keeps you from wrath and judgement by people in the moment, it is better than the truth. Well before you get to far into that lie listen to the truth from Gods word. "This year you are going to die, because you have counseled rebellion against the Lord.’ ” So Hananiah the prophet died in the same year in the seventh month." This was the truth from the Lord through the prophet Jeremiah, and it happened. Hananiah died an eternal death separated from God in hell and is still there suffering today over 2500 years later! Another truth is that the people who followed his lies and didn't repent and come back to God and His truth, suffered the same fate. They are in Hell today. Let me give you one more truth. John 14:6 Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Desire, listen to, and follow the Truth and you will have life eternal. He is the only Way to the Father. All other ways are lies.

I pray today the truth has convicted us to run to Jesus who is the Truth!
