Daniel 9:9 NASB1995 To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him;

We tend to blame everyone but ourselves for our troubles. Yet we see in Daniel the exact opposite. He went to scripture to understand why things had happened. He had sought obedience to the Lord and had seen the Lord do many amazing things in his lifetime. Yet in our verse today, he said for WE have rebelled against God. Daniel, who attempted to live a Godly life, lumps himself in with the rest of the Jews. He did this because he understood in his effort to be Godly, he was still a sinner. He didn't blame them and say they need to do better. He blamed US and said WE need to do better. He said to the Lord our God belongs compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him. Today, in the church, we want to blame others, and this is part of our sin. This is also one of many reasons why churches struggle and we haven't seen a revival in such a long time. Until WE seek repentance for OUR sins instead of desiring others to repent of theirs WE will not see the church look like the bride of Christ. WE will instead look like a high end prostitute who covers her sins with a veil of the name "escort" while accusing the low end prostitute of being a sinner and blaming her for all OUR problems.

If anyone during this time had a right to say "for YOU have rebelled against God," it was Daniel. However, he lumped himself in with the rest saying it is OUR fault. Thank the Lord that He is compassionate and forgiving. If WE want to see the world change, then WE must stop blaming everyone else, and WE must repent for OUR sins. If we like Daniel, will look to the scriptures, then WE will see that scripture says, Romans 3:10 NASB1995 as it is written, “There is none righteous, not even one.

I am not righteous, therefore WE must repent. You are not righteous, therefore WE must repent. Paul quotes scripture in saying. Romans 3:12 NASB1995 All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does good, There is not even one.”

ALL, TOGETHER, and THEY.

If WE want the world to wake up, then WE must realize that WE are part of the problem.

To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him;

Love Bro. Scott
