Genesis 6:9 NASB95 These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God.
Our text says Noah was a righteous man. Righteous in this text means to be just or lawful. He lived his life according to the law. Now the Mosaic law had not been given yet. However, God's desire had been passed down generation to generation. We know that Enoch was Noah's great-grandfather, and he was a Godly man. So we see the passing of God's word from generation to generation. This is an example of how we need to be as parents and Grandparents. We must continue to pass on the word to have followers of the word in future generations. Being obedient to His word.
Our text then says Noah was blameless in his time. We see Noah living in a time when people were not sincere in following the law. They were hypocrites. They did some things to look Godly but lived another life at different times. The word blameless means to be without blemish. Noah consistently was the same he didn't act like a godly man. He was a Godly man. People need to realize that our entire life is a witness. People are watching you. You might fool some but not all. Usually, the ones you don't fool are the ones who need God. Plus you will never fool God.
Last our text says Noah walked with God. The apostles walked with Jesus and this is exactly what we should see of Noah when we think of his life. He was in step with God always. He didn't visit God. No, he lived with God. This is where so many people miss the mark. They are willing to visit God on Sunday, and maybe on Wednesday. They might even share with others about their visits during the week. However, they are not willing to let God move in. Jesus doesn't want you to meet Him somewhere. No, He wants you to travel there with Him. Noah walked with God. Do you?
If we want to be the type of person God would use to build an ark. Then we need to be a just person who shares God's word. We need to be a consistently sincere person for all to see. Last, we need to not just meet with Jesus but live with Him!
I pray this is our desire.
Love Bro. Scott
