John 16:28 NASB95: “I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again and going to the Father.”

God dwells in the kingdom of eternity. It is a spiritual realm that exists outside of the physical realm of time.

Jesus reveals that He came forth from God the Father, stepping out of eternity into the world. He did this for a very specific purpose. Mankind had lost its ability to be in the presence of God. Sin was suffocating the breath of life out of man. Sin would continue to do this until it received full payment for what was owed. Life was the debt. By removing life, death would rule. So Jesus came, leaving the Father in eternity, to freely give His life as fulfillment of sin's debt. Jesus says, "I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. By dying here on earth, inside of time, attached to sin as the payment, He would never again be with God the Father. That is, unless He was to live again. God the Son, the Word, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, is life. For any part of creation (which Satan and demons are) to think that they had the power to overcome the Life (Jesus) is to be foolish. Of course, Life prevailed, and death was defeated. Therefore Jesus, the Son of God, the Word, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, said, "I am leaving the world again and going to the Father.”

Knowing that He is there is a reassurance of our Faith. He is making intercession for us, preparing a place for us, and He will come again to gather us to Him and the Father. However, in the meantime, He sent God the Holy Spirit to dwell in the children of God as assurance that He did what He did. He is doing what He said He would do, and He will come back just like He said He would.

Make sure you are ready for His return. Have your faith active. Jesus said, "I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again and going to the Father.” Do you think He will stop now?

Absolutely not! He is returning.
