1 John 3:1 NASB95 See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

There is something special about a parent's love for a child. I remember when my children were little and they could barely talk. I would ask them, "Who loves you?" They would respond, "Daddy does!" I will never forget one time when my son was crying and I asked him what was wrong, and he just kept crying. I looked at him and asked, "Who loves you?" He responded with "Daddy does!" At that moment he quit crying and he smiled. Knowing his Daddy loved him brought him peace, comfort, and happiness. Whatever had upset him was no longer a problem because Daddy loves him.

This is what we can see in our text. "See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God." How amazing it is that we have been blessed to be known as Sons and Daughters of the Lord. This should give us great peace, comfort' and happiness. There is joy in knowing that He loves us with such a great love that we can call Him Father. Yet it is not just Father we can call the Lord. No, we can also cry out to Him as Abba (Daddy) Father. Romans 8:15 NASB95 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”

What a great love Abba Father has for us that we can be His children. 2 Corinthians 6:18 NASB95 “And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,” Says the Lord Almighty.

This means we no longer need to fear, but instead cry out Daddy, I know you love me; therefore, I will not fear, but I will be comforted. No one else could have the peace and comfort that I provided for my children simply because they are not my children. As the text says, the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

Thankfully, God's love is far greater than mine, and all who will receive the free gift of eternal life will be Children of God, and they will experience the Love that is greater than all loves. John 3:16 NASB95 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

A love revealed even in our sin. Romans 5:8 NASB95 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

When someone asks how we can have Joy. We can respond because my Daddy, Father, Lord loves me. He loves you too. You can be His child and my sibling if you will receive His gift of eternal life.

Let me tell you today who loves you.

YOUR DADDY, ABBA FATHER, DOES!!!!

And so do I, as my brother or sister. I pray you are.

Love Bro. Scott
