We go through physical mortal life as if it is all there is. Many say we are Christians, and yet we see no urgency to Share the Way.
We look forward to the coming of the Lord, thinking it will be a great thing, yet we have loved ones to whom we dare not speak boldly about Jesus because of fear of the struggles in this life. We have friends we do not Share the Way with because they might stop hanging around with us. We read devotionals that are 100 percent about how great life is with God, and yet we never share how awful death will be without Him. Not just death in Eternity, but death in the great tribulation. The Old Testament speaks at length about this, yet we avoid it because it is uncomfortable. Read this description of the Truth of the torment of being at the Day of the Lord. Zephaniah 1:14-18 NASB95 Near is the great day of the LORD, Near and coming very quickly; Listen, the day of the LORD! In it the warrior cries out bitterly. A day of wrath is that day, A day of trouble and distress, A day of destruction and desolation, A day of darkness and gloom, A day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of trumpet and battle cry Against the fortified cities And the high corner towers. I will bring distress on men So that they will walk like the blind, Because they have sinned against the LORD; And their blood will be poured out like dust And their flesh like dung. Neither their silver nor their gold Will be able to deliver them On the day of the LORD’S wrath; And all the earth will be devoured In the fire of His jealousy, For He will make a complete end, Indeed a terrifying one, Of all the inhabitants of the earth.
It is coming very quickly - you have no time to waste!
In it the warriors cry out - it will be so awful even the toughest will cry and beg for it to end!
The description - day of wrath, day of trouble, day of distress, day of destruction, day of desolation, day of darkness, day of gloom, day of clouds and thick darkness, day of trumpet and battle cry against the fortified cities.
God describes His wrath on those who have refused Him - I will bring distress on men So that they will walk like the blind, Because they have sinned against the LORD; And their blood will be poured out like dust And their flesh like dung.
Man can do nothing to stop His suffering - Neither their silver nor their gold Will be able to deliver them On the day of the LORD’S wrath.
Nothing will survive nor escape His wrath - all the earth will be devoured In the fire of His jealousy, For He will make a complete end, Indeed a terrifying one, Of all the inhabitants of the earth.
This is the outcome of those who live outside the shelter of His salvation, and yet we remain quiet. They need to know what awaits them.
Then we can share the glorious God who will save those who will receive His Son.
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 NASB1995 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.
God doesn't desire for us to receive His wrath, and He has provided a way so we don't have to. It is through Jesus, who is the Christ as our Lord. Because when He is our Lord, He is then our Savior.
Let me encourage you today. That you do not have to end up in the wrath of God, nor do your friends and family. Romans 10:9 NASB1995: that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
Jesus makes it clear. John 14:6 NASB95 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
Live in the Way, Share the Way, Follow the Way; He is the Truth. You only have Life in Him. There is no other way to God the Father but through the Way of the Truth and Life (Jesus).
