Psalm 17:15 NASB95 As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake.
David wrote this Psalm about the oppression of this world. He sees in this world, the uncaring heart, the prideful talk, the violence, the lies, the surprise attack of Satan and demons. The temptation, the sin, the death, and the judgement.
But David sees and writes about the salvation of those in The Savior, the Son of God. He says I will not look or dwell upon these things. He says instead, I shall behold the face of God. What now I long for and seems impossible, I will see then in the fullness of righteousness. I will open my eyes and not see you in the faith you provided me O God, but I will see the blinding light of your perfection, face to face.
No longer shall I seek and hunger for, but I will then taste and see that you, O Lord, are GOOD.
I will then feel the complete fullness of your presence.
What now seems only like a dream as I exist in this world, I will one day wake up and realize that this was my nightmare and your presence is the real thing.
I hate that my sin has put me in this nightmare, but I am thankful that the blood of Jesus has awakened me from this world to the righteous reality of your real love and desire for me to see your face.
Thank you, Lord, for giving David this Psalm and us your love.
Love Bro. Scott
