Colossians 3:4 NASB95 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
Think about your life. Look back over it and evaluate what your life is wrapped up in.
It is quite common for someone who has children (especially today) to say, my life is wrapped up in my children. Everything they do is for their children.
Others who are married might say their spouse. Their life is wrapped up in their spouse. They live to please their spouse.
Others still would say my life is about me. I focus on my enjoyment in life. Some would say my job. I live to work.
I have met all these people in my life. I have seen people fall apart when their child starts his or her own life and doesn't have time for mom and dad. Their life ends when their child becomes an adult. Some people literally quit living if they lose a child. The same goes for someone with life wrapped up in their spouse. If the spouse dies they are not far behind. If the spouse leaves they feel they are worthless.
The same can be said about the selfish person and the person who lives to be of value at work. All of these things will end and if their life is wrapped up in them, then they will end also.
If this is you.
While you might not die, you will quit living.
You might want to read that line again.
When your life (children, spouse, self-worth, job, etc.) dies, although you might still be alive you will exist without a life.
I knew a woman who lost her husband and went to bed so she could die also. She laid in that bed for years still alive but not living. I have often wondered if she knew it would take her so long to die if she would have attempted to keep living during that time.
Our text says "When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory."
Is Christ, who is alive forevermore, your life?
When Christ, WHO IS OUR LIFE, is revealed.
Since Christ lives forever, if He is your life then you shall live forever with Him in glory.
Too many people are alive but are dead, because their life is wrapped up in someone else who will die.
It is time to stop living in what will inevitably die and start living in who has died for you, and rose to live in you, for all of eternity.
Is your life Christ?
If not prepare to spend time living in death before you die.
Or better yet accept Jesus as Lord and live, alive in Him who is life, forever!
Love Bro. Scott
