Philippians 4:19 NASB95 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

We have all seen those reality shows where a family is struggling, and a group comes in, builds them this big, extravagant house, and gets them this nice car loaded with all the options.

Then they leave, and you wonder how they will make it. They don't have a job to pay utilities. They don't have money for gas or insurance. Did they really help them?

God's help is always the correct help. Our text says "my God." Paul reveals that He is a personal God. He is not some god who just comes into your life long enough to film a show. He comes in to live and be your God. People think they don't want a God who stays, but if you just have a god who drops by and leaves, then your god doesn't really know you and can not provide your true needs. You might be better off with a lifetime bus pass than a limousine that you can't insure, drive, or put gas in. You might need a job instead of money that will eventually disappear. You might need a friend instead of an acquaintance who wants recognition for helping. You absolutely need the God who loves instead of an idol who sees you as an opportunity.

Paul is saying, let me introduce you to "my God."

He says my God "will supply." This word means he doesn't come in and get wood from a local supply yard. He grows the wood. Look around you. God didn't give just enough wood for a house. He gave us enough wood that everything is built and there are still trees. When He supplies, the abundance is undeniable. Yet He has just exactly what is perfectly needed for you to be supplied correctly. A two-person family is not in need of a 5000 square foot house that they can't afford to heat, cool, and insure. However, my God, who is present and personal, provides a full cup to overflowing of exactly what you need, and He starts inside where the most important need is. He doesn't cut corners. When He supplies, it is all number 1 grade. There are no warped boards in His buildings. No cracks, no knots, no holes, and know glued together particle board. It is solid, natural, and real. He didn't send an angel to try and save His creation. No, He sent His self-existent, only begotten Son, the perfect atonement.

Why? Because He completely supplies what He personally knows that we need. Because He is the personal God!

He supplies all your needs. If you NEED three bedrooms, then He will not give you two. If you NEED water, then He won't give you dirt.

Because He is the PERSONAL GOD, He knows your NEEDS better than you do. He gives us exactly what we NEED for our best life. God created us with just the right amount of blood. If we didn't have enough, then we would feel terrible. If we have just the right amount we feel good. If we have too much blood, then we could die. It is really nice to know that my God is familiar with and knows how to read this dipstick's level.

The text says, according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

God not only has all the blood and trees that I need, but He has everything I need, because He created everything in Christ Jesus. John 1:3 NASB95 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

He owns the cattle on a thousand hills because He owns the Hills. He created the hills, the cattle, the world, and everything; apart from Him nothing came into being. I am His because He created me. Yet my sin sold me into slavery, to Satan. However, Jesus redeemed me back to God the Father. In Christ Jesus, I belong to the one who is rich in Glory and provides ALL my NEEDS, because ALL I NEED is Him.

He is My God through my Lord Jesus. Is He your personal God?

If not, please know your god doesn't know you, and you don't need what he provides!
