The moment you had a true understanding or comprehension that you are accountable for your wrongs you became dead in your sins. I use the terms reaching the understanding of accountability, rather than reaching the age of accountability. Because there really is no set age. It is different for each person. Scripture tells us that all are sinners and that the wages of sin is death. Once we understand this we become dead in our sin! Our eternal home will be in death separated from the eternal life in God's presence. So God reveals to us in our text Colossians 2:13 When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions.

So you die spiritually in sin because your flesh is tethered to sin but Christ circumcises us by cutting us away from the hold of sin on the flesh. He allows us to be forgiven because He pays the debt we owe from our sin. The wages of sin is death. Scripture goes on to say, Colossians 2:14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

Jesus paid our sin debt and then circumcized us from the flesh, enabling us to be born again in Spirit. God laid all this out for us simply because He loves us! Are you thankful for all Christ did for you? If so show it by living for Him.

So many people take the love of Christ for granted. Are you doing this? We have an opportunity here on this earth to show our love and appreciation for His love. Or we can show the rest of the world we don't consider His gift to be that valuable. There is a phrase that I am not very fond of (the world is watching.) Yes, they are. So let's show them how much we love Jesus, by spending our time following Him in love, enough love to be completely obedient to Him.

Love in Christ Bro. Scott
