Are you holding on to be steady in life or are you being held steady? Many people seek things to make them feel secure and comfortable in life. When it is realized that the item they have does not provide long-term peace, they then move on to something else. I once knew a man who had a new house. He wanted a new car so he bought the one he wanted. He then found out the car was to big for the garage so he had a new house built with a bigger garage. No man-made item can ever hold us steady in our life. The prophet Isaiah said this; Isaiah 41:7 So the craftsman encourages the smelter, And he who smooths metal with the hammer encourages him who beats the anvil, Saying of the soldering, “It is good”; And he fastens it with nails, So that it will not totter.

They wanted a god to protect them, so they went to have one made. Yet it has to be fastened with nails so it won't fall. Anything that isn't capable of protecting itself Isn't capable of protecting you. Likewise, anything that can't provide all it needs, will not be able to provide your needs. However, God Almighty, the one who is all knowing, all powerful, and always present, is also all protecting and all securing. You do not need to provide stabilization for God, instead He holds you stables! You don't need to provide for Him a place He has gone to prepare a place for you! You don't need hire someone to create Him, because He created you in His image. You can not offer Him peace because He is peace. The prophet Isaiah said this; Isaiah 41:10 Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

He strengthens, He helps, and He upholds, so we don't have to fear or be anxious about anything.

Which would you prefer, a God you need to secure so he doesn't fall, or a God that holds you up with His righteous right hand?

I know which one I want. He holds me up every day.

Love Bro. Scott
