‭Acts 19:9 But when some were becoming hardened and disobedient, speaking evil of the Way before the people, he withdrew from them and took away the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus.

Everyone needs to hear the gospel. However, how you share it can be varied based on the person you are sharing with. The same goes for teaching new believers. One thing that is not good for new believers is to be in the middle of a debate. Even for a mature Christian, it can be difficult to discern the word of God given by the Spirit from a twisted word whispered by a demon. In our verse, Paul sees the danger of confusing the new believers. So rather than watch the confusion of Satan distract them he leads them away to a school where they can learn in an orderly fashion. He knew what he shared with us in ‭1 Corinthians 14:33 for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

He also knew that growth is a process. So He taught them daily. Verse 16 tells us that this continued for two years. From this Paul teaches that discipleship takes time and it needs to be done by a dedicated believer.

We also see from our text that Satan loves to speak twisted and evil words of Jesus. This is because He is the only Way to the Father in eternity. Anytime a person gets out of the word and lives in the confusion of the world they will be led astray. Seek to get them out of the confusion and into the orderly reasoning of God.

Love Bro. Scott
