Micah 5:2 NASB95 “But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity.”

Bethlehem = house of bread.

John 6:35 NASB1995 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.

Ephrathah = place of fruitfulness

Jesus died and rose again to bear much good fruit. John 12:24 NASB95 “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

From you One will go forth for Me.

One will come from you = born from your inhabitants. One will go out for me. Matthew 2:1 NASB95 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying,

Jesus said in John 17:4 NASB95 “I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.

After being born in Bethlehem, He went out for God to accomplish His work of glory.

Me to be ruler in Israel. = Jesus will rule and be Judge. Acts 17:31 NASB95 because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.” Luke 1:33 NASB95 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.”

His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity.” = Even though He was born in Bethlehem, He has always existed. John 1:1-5 NASB95 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

God wants man to comprehend it, so He gave us His word that Micah penned 700 years before it happened. Then He gave Jesus disciples who would record the fulfillment and prophecy into the future at Jesus' second coming. All of this so you can comprehend and live by faith. Romans 10:17 NASB95 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Faith in Christ is the only path by which God pours out His saving grace. Ephesians 2:8 NASB95 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

If you are comprehending for the first time, give your life to Jesus. Repent of your sins and accept Him as Lord and He will save you for all of eternity from your sins. Romans 10:9-10 NASB95 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Praying people will be saved because they receive Jesus as Lord and then will share Jesus, who is the only way. John 14:6 NASB95 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
