‭2 Thessalonians 1:3 We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater;

Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, speaking to the church of Thessalonica say they thank God for the church and then they explain why. Paul says because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater. Is this not God's desire for His church? When our faith is greatly enlarged it means the teaching in the church is true and is explained in a way for everyone to grow in Christ. It shows who Jesus is, why He needed to come, and why He did what He did, freely. He desired to come to seek and to save those who are lost. He came to do the will of the Father. He came to die and not just any death but a death on the cross for the sins of all. To do this He had to be perfectly righteous and holy. To be perfectly righteous and holy, He had to be God. Yet to die for our sins He had to be man. He fulfilled this for you and me. His life wasn't taken but was freely given and therefore He was able to take it up again so He could beat death for our eternal life. He did all of this because, ‭John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

When these things are taught in His church Faith is greatly enlarged for those who are there regularly to hear it being taught. When our faith grows so does our love because we become more like Christ who is God and so loved the world that He gave His only begotten. Do you love your brothers and sisters? Is your faith greatly increased daily and weekly as you ARE part of the Church and present as much as possible? Do you learn when you are there? Are you there enough to learn? Do you have a love that grows stronger with your faith so that you desire to see all come to salvation in Christ Jesus?

If this is not the case then you need to evaluate whether the problem is the church or you. Then you need to address the problem with either a new Church, more attendance, paying closer attention, and/or being more involved in the work of Christ. Do this by also spending more time talking and listening to Him through His word. If this is happening then as Paul says we ought to give thanks to God.
