Psalms 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
A good Shepherd lays down his life for His sheep.
A good Shepherd will gather His sheep in His arms. He will carry them in His bosom and gently lead those the little ones.
A good Shepherd feeds the flock.
A good Shepherd seeks out His flock that has strayed away.
A good Shepherd shall provide all the needs of His flock. They shall not want.
Yet many look at the grass in the other field and believe it is greener. Once they get there they find it is over a cesspool. It might look greener but it taste like poop.
This is man living in the flesh who listens to the world and not the Lord. We say I want, I want, God says I am giving you your best. We believe others have it better and strive for their lives only to find it's like eating grass over a cesspool. It looks good but taste like poop. The good Lord is the good Shepherd and He provides all our needs and what is best for us. He gently leads us to our very best. Then there is the other side. Often times He desires to bring us to a better field for our ultimate nourishment and we refuse to go. We are comfortable where we are and don't like change. We feel like the good we are in is good enough but the Lord has the best awaiting us if we will follow Him. So often we allow the good to be the thief of the best.
If we will just realize Psalms 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
Follow Him completely and we will never want! Ever! What a good Shepherd He is!
