There was a Levite who traveled to Bethlehem to get his concubine, who had gone back to her father's house. On his way home, he had a chance to stop at a city of foreigners to lodge for the night, but he pushed on to stop in a town of his own nation. Judges 19:14 NASB95 So they passed along and went their way, and the sun set on them near Gibeah which belongs to Benjamin.

They stopped in a town of their own people, but while there, they were not cared for by the majority. They were attacked in hopes of sinful homosexual acts. They were attacked in acts of sex outside the marriage, rape, and the concubine was murdered.

All of this happened in a city of their own people.

We must always be on the alert for attacks of Satan, even in places where we feel safe and amongst people who have a name similar to ours.

Satan will attack even inside a family. He will attack even inside a body of believers. He used Judas in the midst of the disciples. He used John Mark in the middle of Paul and Barnabas. He used Cain in the middle of Adam and Eve's family. He used Ham in the middle of Noah's family. The list goes on and on. Satan is a master of cunning and infiltrating moves to bring sin into a family.

Churches split because of Satan's cunning ways, family's are broken because of Satan and his infiltrating ways. We must always be on the look out and never put ourselves in places that our ministry or our witness can be destroyed. Even when we feel safe and are in areas that we should be, we must follow the Holy Spirit's guidance and keep our eyes open for Satan's surprise attack.

1 Peter 5:8-9 NASB95 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.

You are not alone in this fight but be cautious because sometimes the person next to you has a pet lion.

Always be on the alert and obedient to God. Even when you are in the middle of your people. Satan loves to find a Judas amongst brothers and sisters.
