Psalm 78:72 NASB95 So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them with his skillful hands.

In this Psalm, Asaph writes of Israel's history of failure. They consistently turned their backs on God. Because of this they consistently suffered the punishment and the wrath of God. Asaph gives the following examples of their suffering due to their sinfulness.

Psalm 78:21 NASB95 Therefore the LORD heard and was full of wrath; And a fire was kindled against Jacob And anger also mounted against Israel,

After more sin---

Psalm 78:31 NASB95 The anger of God rose against them And killed some of their stoutest ones, And subdued the choice men of Israel.

After more sin---

Psalm 78:60 NASB95 So that He abandoned the dwelling place at Shiloh, The tent which He had pitched among men,

Yet God kept His promise. He kept His covenant. He kept His nature. He kept His people.

Thank the Lord His response is based on Him and not us. His wrath will be poured out on the disobedient for their sin. However, a truly repentant heart crying out to God will see Him respond according to His integrity and not ours.

Psalm 78:72 NASB95 So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them with his skillful hands.

Are you thankful for His integrity, His guidance, His skillful hands, and His shepherding?

Then stop willfully returning to sin and flee from it straight to obedience of His word!

Love Bro. Scott
