There are many landowners worldwide. In the United States the largest continuous ranch, or privately owned land is the King Ranch. It is over 825,000 acres and is larger than the state of Rhode Island.

Stan Kroenke owns over 2.7 million acres of land in the United States, and there are several others who own around 2 million acres.

Then there are Scott and Stacey Dunaway who own a massive 2.2 acres of land in the State of TN.

Land ownership has for a long time been a status symbol. This man owns 200 acres and this one owns 2000 acres. However, the truth is no one actually owns the land. If you think so then stop paying your property taxes and see how long the land remains in your family.

The USA claims ownership of over 640 million acres of land. Truth be known God is the real owner and He allows us use of it. He created it for us to live on and be provided from. It all belongs to Him.

The old joke goes that a man told God I can create just like you. God said, " Well, go ahead let me see you. So the man bent down and started to form a body from the dust of the ground. God said What are you doing. The man said I am forming man just like you did. To which God replied. Sure, but get your own dirt.

We tend to think that we actually own things we can give to God but the truth is that all that we possess is God's and He is allowing us to use it.

Our text reads. Psalm 50:9-12 NASB95 “I shall take no young bull out of your house Nor male goats out of your folds. “For every beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills. “I know every bird of the mountains, And everything that moves in the field is Mine. “If I were hungry I would not tell you, For the world is Mine, and all it contains.

The lesson from this is we shall have no pride in giving to the Lord because what we give is to be nothing more than gratitude for allowing us use of what is His.

Never give to the Lord with a sense of pride. Instead always joyfully return to the Lord with a sense of thankfulness for a portion of His blessings on us.

This understanding is how we become a cheerful giver. God doesn't desire forced giving, He desires all of yourself to be obedient in cheerful giving. 2 Corinthians 9:7 NASB95 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

How much land do you own? I said 2.2 acres but I was wrong I live on 2.2 acres the Lord has blessed me the use of until He calls me home and the earth is destroyed by fire. I wonder how much land people will own then.
