Lions have flat, square-shaped vocal cords that vibrate very efficiently to produce low-frequency, guttural sounds. These deep frequencies carry exceptionally well over long distances. It is said that a lion's roar can be heard over 5 miles away.

It can strike fear in the heart of a lion's enemy, and it can call the pride, or family group, together. A lion's roar is often used to call and unite the group in a single area. They will know the King of the jungle has called them into his presence.

Our Scripture text says, Hosea 11:10 NASB95 They will walk after the LORD, He will roar like a lion; Indeed He will roar And His sons will come trembling from the west.

We know that most often in Scripture the Lord's voice is loud and compared to thunder, or the earth quaking. This often put fear in the people who were living in sin but those who walk after the Lord are called to Him.

There is coming a day when the Lord will speak and it will sound as if thunder is rolling across the sky and the earth will quake. Those who know Him will come forward trembling in awe with reverence as they would when approaching a lion. A lion's roar will be heard for up to 5 miles but the voice of the Lord will encompass the whole earth.

What an awesome inspiring day that will be for those of us who will come to our Father to hear Come into my kingdom.

What an awful and frightening day it will be for those who refused salvation in His Son. They will seek to hide, but just as His voice will penetrate the whole world so will His vision. There will be no hiding. You will come in fear and stand not before your Father but instead before your creator and judge to be sentenced into the outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I look forward to the joyous day when I hear the frightening roar of the King of Kings and I fly trembling into the presence of my Lord and Father. When my Lord and Savior Jesus says Father your child has come home.

I pray you will be there with me hearing the same.

Make sure today that the roar you hear is the sound of a Father saying it is time come home!
