Let me encourage you today to study the whole counsel of God's word from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21.

God has given us prophets and apostles. He has given us Kings and fishermen. He has given us the educated and the shepherds. He has done all of this to give us His word complete, so as to paint us a clear and vivid picture of His Son. The one who is was and always will be. The one who came, went, and will come again. The one who is completely God and yet completely man. The one who was full, emptied Himself and yet is full again. The one who has always lived but died to live again so we could live. The one who came from the Father to show us the Father, to guide us to the Father.

All of this and so much more is revealed in the full counsel of the word of God. Do not pick and choose what part of the Holy Word you will read. Many have done and are doing this and therefore are missing out on the richness of God's Blessing.

2 Peter 3:2 NASB95 that you should remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles.

The Holy prophets are the writers of the Old Testament. The words spoken by the apostles refer to the New Testament.

Peter says this to prepare us for the warning that He is about to give. That warning is that there will be mockers. Those who attempt to twist, tear apart, and take scripture out of context, so they can discredit you and the word you hold on to. This is why Peter says this and I encourage you.

Read the word of God. Study the word of God. Trust the word of God. Live the word of God. Remember the word of God. Do this from beginning to end. If you do, it will encourage you to know that by faith in Christ, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Love Bro. Scott
