Sin prowls in the dark to start. It wants no one to notice it until it has built up enough confidence to proudly stand up and bring attention to itself.

Satan's plan is used by all who live in sin. They attempt to remain hidden until they feel they are strong enough to sneak out and fight off righteousness in the hours of dawn and dusk. In pride, when they feel they have become strong enough, they start to reveal themselves in the daylight. Then eventually they pridefully declare Look at me I did it. I live in unrighteousness and you dare not speak against me.

Babylon did this and God gave it a warning in Isaiah 47:10-12 NASB95. “You felt secure in your wickedness and said, ‘No one sees me,’ Your wisdom and your knowledge, they have deluded you; For you have said in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one besides me.’ “But evil will come on you Which you will not know how to charm away; And disaster will fall on you For which you cannot atone; And destruction about which you do not know Will come on you suddenly. “Stand fast now in your spells And in your many sorceries With which you have labored from your youth; Perhaps you will be able to profit, Perhaps you may cause trembling.

God says if you let your pride lead you, then you will end up being attacked by evil that you thought you could control. You have stepped out and in pride said Look at me I am defiant of the Lord.

The Lord then says you will be surprised by the weakness of your prideful supporters as they are just as weak as you. Isaiah 47:13-15 NASB95 “You are wearied with your many counsels; Let now the astrologers, Those who prophesy by the stars, Those who predict by the new moons, Stand up and save you from what will come upon you. “Behold, they have become like stubble, Fire burns them; They cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame; There will be no coal to warm by Nor a fire to sit before! “So have those become to you with whom you have labored, Who have trafficked with you from your youth; Each has wandered in his own way; There is none to save you.

They will be of no assistance as they burn in hell for their sin as well. There is none to save you at that point. However, earlier in the chapter the Lord reveals that there is someone who can save you if you repent of your sin and step out of the darkness into the light. However, you must do this before it is too late. Repent and He will redeem you and fight for you. Isaiah 47:4 NASB95 Our Redeemer, the LORD of hosts is His name, The Holy One of Israel.

Look at what this verse reveals. He is our Redeemer. He pays the price to purchase us BACK from the wages of our sin. The LORD (Yahweh (the self-existent one)) is the one who does this. God Himself comes for you. He is the LORD of hosts. That is the leader of heaven's armies. With ALL military might, omnipotence (all-power), as never seen before, comes to fight for you. You are that important to Him. He never asks you to hide in the dark. He is your shield and your shelter. This shelter is light. He is never waiting for you to become strong enough to reveal yourself for He is all strength and you shall always reveal Him!

Knowing this we have a choice to freely make. Shall we hide in our sin until we are lied to and told you are strong enough now to slightly reveal yourself? However, not too much until there are more with you and then stand up in pride and say I am a sinner look at me.

Or

Stand up in humility and say I am a sinner that is ashamed of my sin. However, I have repented and I am redeemed by the Lord and I give Him glory. I can't fight sin but He in me is all-powerful. He is love. He desires to redeem you as well. He is fighting with all power and military might for you to be able to freely leave your sin behind and turn to Him. Come and join me in the Lord and you will never need to hide in darkness again. Not because you are strong. Not because I am with you. No it is because when you freely choose Christ as Lord, then He moves into you. Then you will know, 1 John 4:4 NASB95 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

Where is Babylon?

Hiding in darkness.

Where is Christ?

In me. Romans 1:16-17 NASB95 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.”

He will move into you too. However, He has given you free will. So will you freely open the door and let the light in?

Love Bro. Scott
