How righteous are you? How much have you done to deserve the kingdom of heaven? If you are a follower of Christ you know the answers are no, none, zilch, nada. Scripture makes it clear that all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. There is none righteous, not even one. If you become guilty of one point of the law you are guilty of them all. The wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Therefore we have no righteousness but the righteousness of Jesus. Plus, we can do nothing to earn Eternal life. It is a gift through the Grace of God!

This is why Jesus spoke to them these words. Mark 2:17 NASB95 And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Jesus came to earth to save those who are sinners (all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory). It is not the healthy who need a physician but those who are sick.

If you answered the first two questions honestly then you know that you need a Physician who is Lord.

I don't serve the Lord to go to heaven. If I did I would fail.

I don't live for Christ to get Eternal life. If I did I would fail.

I don't praise Jesus so He will die for me. He already did that.

I don't Share the way so I can be given the way. I have already received it.

I didn't get baptized so I would be saved. I was saved before I was baptized.

I don't go to church just because it makes me feel good. Sometimes it convicts me.

I do these things not to get anything, but because my Lord came to me and healed me.

His word says I should follow Him. He said that He came for me.

I love Him so much that I do these things because I know He desires me to.

I am not righteous. I do not deserve the kingdom of heaven and nothing I can do will ever earn that for me.

So why do it?

We do it because, Romans 5:8 NASB95 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Mark 2:17 NASB95 And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

I love my Lord! He humbled and emptied Himself to come for me because I am a sinner and sick.

Do you realize you are also?

He came for you too.

Love in Christ, Bro. Scott

HE CAME FOR YOU!
