Psalm 122:9 NASB95 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good.

This verse speaks of Jerusalem and the Jewish people. However, the house of God today is the church and the church is the body of Christ. The Church is those who have placed their measure of faith in Jesus and continued to strengthen this faith by obedience in following Christ. The writer says for the sake of the house of the Lord (Yahweh) our God (elhoim) triune God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, I will seek your good. So who is the word "your" referring to? As I mentioned earlier, this verse refers to Jerusalem and its people. We see this by looking back to take this verse in context.

Psalm 122:6-9 NASB95 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. “May peace be within your walls, And prosperity within your palaces.” For the sake of my brothers and my friends, I will now say, “May peace be within you.” For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good.

So for the good of the Church which is those with faith in Christ, we need to pray for and seek the good of Jerusalem.

This is not happening in the world today. I have heard people say that the United States of America started the war in Iran. However, Iran's regime admits to supplying and guiding Hamas which attacked the Jews on October 7th 2023. Iran's regime admits to supplying and guiding Hezbollah which attacked Israel October 8th 2023. Iran's regime admits to supplying and guiding Houthis who targeted Israeli ships in the Red sea starting November 19th 2023 and US ships in January 2024.

To seek the good in Jerusalem and the United States, we finally started fighting the head of the terrorist organization.

The Church needs to pray for and seek the good of Jerusalem by supporting those who are attempting the stopping and destruction of those who are supporting the destruction of Jerusalem and eventually the church.

Then since the church is today's house of the Lord (Yahweh) our God (elhoim) we need to pray for and seek the good of it today also.

Seeking the good of the church today is support through prayer, service, presence, tithing, and preaching the gospel to the lost. Few are doing this. Just as few are supporting Jerusalem.

Do we honestly pray for the church?

Do we honestly serve the church?

Do we honestly attend regularly the church?

Do we honestly tithe to the church?

Do we honestly preach the gospel to the lost for the church?

Few do all of these. However, it is not to late to start.

Just like people say the USA started the war in Iran, we must be prepared for the world to say the church is interfering with the world. What we must remember is the Lord Yahweh our God elhoim created the world, then Satan attacked craftily Scripture tells us Matthew 16:18 NASB95 “I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.

Our text today teaches us two things.

Psalm 122:9 NASB95 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good.

We need to pray and seek the good of Jerusalem and the church.

This is not political it is scriptural.

Church it is time to start! Pray and seek good!

Love Bro. Scott
