The Old Testament confirms that the Messiah would be God! His deity was set in Scripture showing us that Jesus is truly the Christ. He is all man and all God. Listen to these verses speaking of the Son of God. Psalm 45:6-7 NASB95 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your fellows.

Speaking of Jesus God has the Psalmist write your throne, O God, is forever and ever. He refers to the Messiah (Jesus) as God. His scepter is righteousness, which is the foundation of His Kingdom. Make no mistake it is clear that Jesus the Christ / Messiah is deity. He is God. He revealed His love of righteousness by never sinning and His hatred of wickedness by dying because of it. Then God has the writer say "Therefore God." He refers to Jesus as God. Make no mistake about the deity of Jesus. The writer continues "Your," is capitalized showing it is referring to The Christ. "God," referring to God the Father. Once again he says, "Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your fellows." Once again notice that the translators show You and Your capitalized meaning they understand it to be speaking of Jesus. Make no mistake, Jesus is God!

Now if you are saying I see that the Messiah is God's Son and deity. However, how do you know that you and the translators are right and that these verses are speaking of Jesus?

It is actually very simple using the Bible to interpret the Bible.

We know that Hebrews teaches us about Jesus because it tells us so in Hebrews 2:9 NASB95 But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

So if it is speaking of Jesus then we need to see what these next verses say. Hebrews 1:8-9 NASB95. But of the Son He says, “YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM. “YOU HAVE LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS; THEREFORE GOD, YOUR GOD, HAS ANOINTED YOU WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS ABOVE YOUR COMPANIONS.”

He quotes the verses in Psalm 45 and says they are referring to Jesus.

So make no mistake, Jesus is God, and since He is God, He is Lord. If He is Lord and He is then what the gospel tells us about His Salvation is true. That means He is the Savior of those who will place their faith in Him.

So what are you waiting for? You can be saved forever because He is God. Your friends can be saved forever because He is God! So go tell them!

Make no mistake, Jesus is God! The Old Testament states it. The New Testament confirms it. Jesus proves it by dying and yet living forevermore.

Just in case you didn't know, Jesus is God!

Love Bro. Scott
