Kids play baseball and they dream of hitting a walk-off home run to win the World Series. The people who make it to that point often say it took a lot of hard work but they were glad they put in all the practice. However, their dream being fulfilled doesn't provide the satisfaction they had expected. It brings euphoria for a period and then they have to attempt to do it again.

People dream of wedded bliss. They dream of a family with children and a spouse they adore. It starts out that way, but then the kids act up, and the spouse isn't the same as they once were. They start looking for something to bring back the feeling of bliss. Maybe they have another child, or they focus on work. So often they look for someone else to bring back the bliss only to find out later the new person is no more blissful than the last. Those whose marriage survives will tell you it takes work.

The problem most people have is that they don't want to work. The bigger problem that almost everybody has, is that they are looking for their reward and seeking for it to last while living in a temporal time.

This world is temporary but you can work toward your eternal euphoria and bliss while in this temporal world. In fact, you must, because part of the reward is not needing to work but rather to enjoy your worship of the Lord eternally. Paul explains, in 2 Corinthians 9:6 NASB95 Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

The more you sow temporally (work toward bringing others to Christ in this temporary time,) the more you reap in eternity.

Make sure you do not misunderstand Paul. Heaven is a glorious place in the presence of God. Your admission has been paid for by Christ. You receive your prepaid ticket of Grace through faith in Him. This is what is needed for entry.

No work on your part is required. But that is not all of it.

Just like getting to the World Series is great, it is not the same as hitting the walk-off home run to win it. Just like getting married is bliss. It is not the same as being there for each other in complete joy when your child marries and has children.

These two examples take work and dedication. However when they are over you must continue to work and be dedicated, to continue the excitement.

The work you do now with complete dedication to Christ provides eternal never-ending bliss, joy, excitement, euphoria, and pleasure, on top of the glories of heaven.

To continue to have a temporary euphoria in all temporary things of this world you work and work and then work some more for it. Yet, it will still end.

To get to the place of eternal peace in the place of worship called heaven, you by faith receive the grace ticket paid for by Christ. He bought it with His work on the cross and coming forth from the grave. To have the eternal reward of laying crowns at Jesus feet you need to work with dedication and in joy for a temporary time frame. That time frame lasts only while on earth as a child of God, but it pays its wages forevermore in heaven.

What a blessing to know that my eternity is paid for by Christ. My rewards are earned through temporary work on earth but payday is never-ending in eternity.

2 Corinthians 9:6 NASB95 Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

Are you sowing for eternity or a moment in time?

Temporary rewards fade away even before time ends. Eternal rewards outlast time and never end.

Love Bro. Scott
