Do you consider the outcome of obedience to God?
God is good and His ways are full of righteousness. That doesn't mean that people will respond with goodness and righteousness.
When following God, our responsibility is obedience not outcome.
If we use hindsight in our lives, we will realize that foresight is seldom right. We look to the future and evaluate based on what will yield the best outcome for us. This usually doesn't happen because everyone else is using foresight to evaluate the future for the best outcome for themselves. Our foresight can't even see into our short-term temporal existence, let alone our eternal life in the presence of God.
We are not called to the outcome of our obedience, we are only called to obedience.
When you Share the Way, you have been obedient. Sometimes the outcome is ridicule.
When you Share the Way, you have been obedient. Sometimes the outcome is thanks.
When you Share the Way, you have been obedient. Sometimes the outcome is silence.
When you Share the Way, you have been obedient. Sometimes the outcome is joy.
When you Share the Way, you have been obedient. Sometimes the outcome is your own suffering.
When you Share the Way, you have been obedient. Sometimes the outcome is others suffering.
When you Share the Way, you have been obedient. Sometimes the outcome is salvation.
When you Share the Way, you have been obedient. The outcome is not in your hands nor is it for you to contemplate.
Scripture says Ezekiel 2:7 NASB95 “But you shall speak My words to them whether they listen or not, for they are rebellious.
God says you shall speak My words to them.
It is not an option. I used to tell my children to do things. When they ask me why, I would respond, "Because I said so."
Don't ask God why just do it.
You say they won't listen. Why should I waste my breath? God says they are rebellious. Whether they listen or not isn't your concern. Your concern is making sure you don't join them in their rebellion!
So speak His words to them. Do not consider the outcome. Just be obedient to the Lord.
When you Share the Way, you have been obedient. When you don't Share the Way, you have been rebellious.
There is no need to consider the outcome of your obedience. There is only need to be obedient for His ways are always righteous and good!
