Do you desire to be with Jesus?
Christians would answer yes. We are, and will be with Him. As the church, we are the bride of Christ and as I read our text today I wonder. Do we truly desire Jesus as the bride in our text desires her groom? Song of Songs 3:2 NASB95 ‘I must arise now and go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I must seek him whom my soul loves.’ I sought him but did not find him.
In the next verses, we see that she doesn't give up until she finds Him. Do we have that type of desire for Jesus and His will for our lives? A desire that says my soul loves Him so much, that it aches without His immediate and personal presence as He guides me and I follow step for step. I will not hesitate, I will get up now and seek Him.
She goes into the streets and the city square. She asks people who have vision (the night watchman).
For us today we have the streets of the Word of God that guide us step by step with directions to Him. We have the local square of prayer that takes us to the center of the throne room. We also have the under shepherd, (the night watchman) in His church that seeks to prod you, pull you, and carry you on his shoulders to the place where, the Shepherd is as He is seeking you more than you are seeking Him.
I pray we will seek the groom with as much passion and desire as the bride in our text seeks her groom.
There is no groom more desirable than the Son of God who laid down His life for the church!
Seek Him today!
Love Bro. Scott
