Malachi 4:6 NASB95 “He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse.”
God has set up a family structure that Satan has attempted to destroy in the world. The end of the Old Testament warns that failing this type of family structure brings on a curse.
Fathers should have heart desires above everything else to bring their children to the Lord. Children should have such a desire for their fathers that they seek the Lord as he guides them to Him.
As this family unit structure disappears the end will come. The church will be raptured and the curse will start. The most prominent form of child abuse in the world is not physical. Although there is plenty of that, and it is despicable. The most prominent and most devastating form of child abuse is the failure of the Father to desire his children's salvation and relationship with God enough to have his complete heart turned to his family. Not turned and desiring to make them happy but turned and desiring to give them eternal joy in a close relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ.
As this becomes less and less prominent the curse of a land full of people will come. The most dedicated Jews took this curse so seriously that they repeated the previous verse after this one.
Malachi 4:5 NASB95 “Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD.
They did this simply because they didn't want their scripture to end with a curse. Let this be a lesson to us. No matter how much you try to rationalize this or change it with worldly ideas it doesn't change the fact that God warns a curse is coming. Those who have not led their family to Christ and nurtured them in that relationship of Christ being the most important will see their family suffer the curse.
Fathers, do not abuse your children. Turn your heart from the world toward your children. That is if your heart contains Christ. That last sentence is important.
Because:
You can't share water with your child if you don't have water!
You can't share bread with your family if you don't have bread!
You can't share joy with someone if you don't have joy!
Fathers, you can't share Christ if you don't have Christ!
It is time to get the living water, the bread of life, the joy of the Lord and the Christ, who is the only way to the Father. Then turn toward your children/family and Share!
Sharing the Way! Love Bro.
