Malachi 1:5 NASB95 Your eyes will see this and you will say, “The LORD be magnified beyond the border of Israel!”

People often look around and wonder, is the Lord doing anything today. Our text speaks of Edom. The descendants of Esau chose to live their lives away from God. They chose to worship false idols and call them God. However, they were destroyed. God will take all actions chosen by man whether good or evil, and He will glorify Himself so that others will see Him as God and place their faith in Him.

God's desire in love is to share eternity with mankind, so He reveals Himself in all things. We wonder why bad things happen but the truth is they happen because of the fallen state of a sinful world. God will not allow these evil things to draw people away from Him. So He uses them in some way to show His glory in this brokenness.

In the situation of our text, He reveals what has and what will happen, so that people will see it come to pass and glorify Him. He desires that they will place their faith in Him and be blessed with His presence for all eternity.

Last night I saw a video of a lady whom I know, singing to her father as he was dying with cancer. She sang to him, "When you've been there 10,000 years a million or maybe two look for me, for I will be there too."

I just imagine that it will take at least that long in heaven before we would even think of turning our eyes to look at anything other than the face of the Lord!

I have a dear sweet mother (the mother of my wife), who has been suffering from the early-onset of vascular dementia for almost 18 years. She is a saint having accepted and lived for Jesus most of her life. She has been unable to communicate effectively for at LEAST four years. My wife and I have had many discussions about why she has had to go through this. We both know it is the sin of a fallen world which we are just as much responsible for as anyone. But you still have the thoughts of why. As I was reading this morning God started to reveal to me many of the conversations I have had in which I have been able to share Jesus because of her suffering. Then He revealed to me how so many people have seen Jesus because of the wonderful care my father (the Father of my wife) has provided for her. Then He reminded me of the video I saw last night and I thought, when my mom had been at the foot of the throne for 10,000 years, a million, or maybe two, I wonder when she looks around how many people she will see that are there too because she suffered all these years and people saw Jesus through the care of her family. In knowing her the way I do, I can promise you she will say "It was worth it!"

The Lord will take all things as we are told in Romans 8:28 and He will bring people to Him!

I trust this because, His scripture says even in the destruction of a nation that turned their eyes from the Lord; Malachi 1:5 NASB95 Your eyes will see this and you will say, “The LORD be magnified beyond the border of Israel!”

May you be magnified, my Lord and Savior, in my life.

Love Bro. Scott
