Psalm 93:1 NASB95 The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The LORD has clothed and girded Himself with strength; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
In this Psalm, we are shown, God!
We read it poetically while understanding it is completely true.
Yahweh melek - the self-existent God is ruler.
Nowhere in scripture does God attempt to address His coming into existence. This is because He always has been, He is now, and He always will be. He was not created as He is self-existent and His name declares this. Everything else is created by Yahweh who always is. All creation needs a Creator. The Creator is not created; therefore, He does not need a Creator. He is self-existent. He told Moses to tell the Israelites that he was sent by I AM. (haya - to exist)
As the self-existent one, He reigns. He is ruler and created all things to be ruled. He is King. All other kings have been created and allowed to rule under the authority of the King.
The LORD reigns!
He is clothed with majesty.
To be clothed is to be covered or wrapped in a garment or covering.
The self-existent Lord covers Himself with Majesty.
Majesty is only describable as majestic. The term references smoke rising up in a column to the heavens.
The majesty of Christ was revealed as He rose from the grave and again as He ascended into the heavens.
The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty.
The LORD has clothed and girded Himself with strength.
Once again the self-existent one has wrapped Himself with a belt of strength.
Majesty and strength are so minor to the self-existent one that He wears them as garments as He rules.
How amazing is The Lord that we are shown in His Word.
With this, we see the steadfastness of His creation.
Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
With the Self-existent Ruler as its creator, the world will remain until the LORD ends it.
The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The LORD has clothed and girded Himself with strength; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
The amazing revelation of The LORD in this Psalm ends with verse 5. Your testimonies are fully confirmed; Holiness befits Your house, O LORD, forevermore.
The sovereign sanctity of the Word of the LORD is sure. He is different from all others. Set apart as Holy because as He declared, Isaiah 45:5a NASB95 “I am the LORD, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God.
You alone, LORD, are befitting of Yourself forevermore.
The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The LORD has clothed and girded Himself with strength; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
Amen!
