I have had many hard times in my life. Like the heartbreak I felt when the girl in Highschool broke up with me and I thought my life was over. Which was a lie from Satan. Then there was the death of my unborn child. I walked out of that emergency room and had to be caught by a nurse and lowered to the floor as I almost passed out in anguish. I can't forget when they told me that my baby girl would live for a very short time, suffer, and die as they encouraged an abortion. That was another lie from Satan as she is now 29. Then there is the time I watched my son bleed from his side after surgery and the hurt of thinking that I might lose him. I can go on and on, the loss of a parent, the infedility of a spouse, divorce, and personal health scares. These are just a few. Life is hard in this sinful, fallen, upside-down world. After 56 years in a world like ours, you would expect times like these.
Most of these happened after I received Christ as my Savior. However, although He was my Savior, for the longest time I still relied on myself. It wasn't until I was in a dark place around 25 years ago that I looked back and realized that God was not only with me during each of those times but He CARRIED me out of them. I realized that He never left me and He miraculously blessed me while in, and on the other side of those hard dark places. Through this revelation of His presence, power, grace, mercy, and love all the hard times since have been cushioned. He has placed around me the comfort of His presence. When I would break down at the difficulty of my distress, He would pick me up and I knew as long as He was with me I would be fine. Jesus and His Lordship in my life has made the darkness lighter, the hardness softer, the suffering easier, the sadness happier, the emptiness fuller, the loneliness absent in the fullness of His presence, and the deserved wages of my sin paid in full. Jesus has blessed me and because of that, Daniel 4:2-3 NASB95 “It has seemed good to me to declare the signs and wonders which the Most High God has done for me. “How great are His signs And how mighty are His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom And His dominion is from generation to generation.
The peace, joy, comfort, and security, that I have in Christ are available to you also.
Nebuchadnezzar who spoke these two verses, started out talking about the gods whom he trusted in. However, in these verses, he realized they were false idols and he recognized the only true God. The Most High God is the only God. His Son Jesus (God the Son) is the only Savior and the only way to the Father. Plus the Holy Spirit (God the Spirit) is the only guidance, comfort, and Helper you can have indwell you through the sinful upside-down world we live in.
Therefore, I will spend my time striving to profess to you "the signs and wonders which the Most High God has done for me. How great are His signs And how mighty are His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom And His dominion is from generation to generation."
Praying you know Him and will profess the same.
Yes, times are still hard, but Jesus is still Lord. He walks me through the fire, and I don't smell like smoke.
Love Bro. Scott
