The Romans were known to have devised the cruelest form of death. It took the longest amount of time to die. It caused the greatest amount of pain for that length of time, and it meant certain death.

They had perfected the art of torture before death.

Plus it was a great deterrent against insurgency. As people would watch the person suffer tremendous pain that lasted for an unimaginable amount of time culminating in death, they would read on a placard of wood above them the charge that they had been crucified for.

Jesus experienced all of this and even more. With the addition of ridicule, added beatings, a crown of thorns, the scourging, and the carrying of the cross, He was marred more than any other, as Isaiah tells us. As He carried the cross, His placard with His charge was shown for all to see. Scripture tells us in John 19:19 NASB95 Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross. It was written, “JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

The Pharisees were not happy about this they wanted it changed to read "He said, He was King of the Jews but Pilate refused to change it. So Jesus died on that cross with the charge written in three languages for everyone who passed by to see. "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

The King of the Jews was a clear statement. Everyone knew that when Scripture referred to the King of the Jews, it was referring to the "Messiah, the Christ." These names had a meaning, it is the "Annointed One," the Son of God."

He died for being the Anointed Son of God!

There was no question. God had ordained it, and His Son was willing to die for the sins of the world.

Satan was defeated and His greatest work of stopping God, ended up being God's greatest victory. It was the defeat of sin in death and the defeat of death in a risen Savior. This was all proclaimed and written on the cross. "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

With Satan's best effort, in his killing of the Son of God, he was defeated. All of this was completely clear as he couldn't stop the world from knowing that Jesus died because, He is the Messiah! Jesus is the Christ, Jesus is the Anointed Son of God. "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

Satan didn't want it known. However, not only was it written for all to see, it was written in the three main languages of that day. Then it was placed right above Jesus' head. It wouldn't go unnoticed.

Then in a last-ditch effort, the grave was sealed. Here Satan would like the placard to be displayed right above Jesus' body. But a sealed grave didn't work, because, "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS,” got up and walked out. There was no body to place Satan's victory placard above. "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.” is alive!

He died because He is "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

He arose to life because He is "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

He defeated Satan because He is "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

It was written on His cross and charged against Him because He is "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

Make sure you know "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

Then go out and proclaim the Birth, perfect life, the sacrificial death, and the death-defeating, life of "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

Jesus is the Messiah, the Christ, the Annointed Son of God, and my Lord and Savior.

Praise today, "JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
