Romans 3:11 NASB95 THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD;
There are millions of people who claim to seek after God but they go in the wrong direction. This shows us that what they were actually seeking was their own peace and not God? There is a great chasm between seeking God and seeking your own peace. Even though seeking God will provide peace unexplainable, seeking your own peace will not necessarily lead you to God. One is done in Humility and with a desire to worship the one true God. The other is done out of selfishness and a desire to receive your own self-satisfaction. Jesus says in John 6:44 NASB95 “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.
There must be a drawing of the Holy Spirit for a person to seek God. The drawing of the Spirit can be out of hurt, trauma, or brokenness, but the drawing will be that there is a need for God and His will. If this is the drawing and the person is willing to follow the drawing and seek God, then He will reveal Himself. Jesus said, John 7:17 NASB95 “If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself.
God allows you free will. Are you willing to follow Him? If you are not, then the seeking you do is probably not actually for God.
He will call you because as Peter says, 2 Peter 3:9 NASB95 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
God calls, and if we are willing, then we truly seek, and we will find.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 NASB95 ‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. ‘Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. ‘You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
It requires earnestly seeking in faith
Hebrews 11:6 NASB95 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
If you say you seek God but are not following Him then you need to evaluate if you truly sought Him upon a calling of the Spirit because
THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD;
Unless God calls and the person is freely willing.
