John 1:14 NASB95 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John opens his account of the gospel with a description of the Son of God. He refers to Jesus as the Word who was in the beginning. He already existed having always been. He says that the Word (Jesus) was with God and was God. Jesus is the Son of God and is God. Jesus created all things.

Then in verse 14, he says and the Word (Jesus) became flesh. As God, Jesus is Spirit, but in a miracle that is not completely comprehensible by man, God placed His Son in the delicate womb of a virgin. As described in Psalm 139:13 NASB95 For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb.

God wove around the Spirit of God, flesh, and inward parts to form a man of deity. Having always been. He now, was to be born of a virgin, 100% God and 100% Man. The only begotten Son of God was born the God Man.

God came to live with man. To suffer temptation and the frailty of fallen man but not to sin so as to be available as the only perfect sacrifice for death. Mankind in sin needed this sacrifice and someone to defeat death in order to have life eternal. Only God could be what man needed. Because man was created to need God.

Today, we are on the eve of the celebration of the Virgin birth of a Savior. If you feel empty or in need, please know the only person capable of feeling that emptiness is God.

Sin created this emptiness but God is willing to fill you full through the life, death, and resurrection of the God Man, the only Begotten Son of God, the virgin-born Word of God, that always has been, is now, and always will be, the Savior of man.

He came for you, and He will come again. Will you be ready for Him? Philippians 2:10-11 NASB95 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Will you confess Him as Savior now, or when it is too late?

If you are blessed enough to be saved from sin and death on the eve of the celebration of His birth let another believer know and then follow Him!

Love your brother in Christ!
