Mark 2:17 NASB95 And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

John 3:16 NASB95 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 NASB95 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Jesus came for the sinner, so that whoever believes would be saved. Because He desires all men to be saved.

The scribes and the Pharisees were wondering why Jesus was hanging out with sinners. Jesus explained that sinners are sick and need a physician and He is the Physician.

What they missed is that Jesus was hanging out with them for the same reason.

The wise teacher Solomon said, "Ecclesiastes 7:20 NASB95 Indeed, there is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and never sins."

Isaiah 64:6 NASB95 For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

We must be very cautious not to ever think we are above anyone. Jesus came for the sinner and we all are sinners.

1 John 1:8 NASB95 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Don't be deceived, you are a sinner in need of Jesus. He came for you. He came for sinners. He came to save the least of mankind. He came to save even me.

None are worthy but mercy and grace are new every morning. Lamentations 3:22-23 NASB95 The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

They last through it all and forever.

Why is Jesus hanging out with sinners? Because He loves all mankind, and there are none righteous for Him to hang out with. Myself and yourself included.

Don't question His forgiveness be thankful for it.

Love Bro. Scott
