Satan loves to disrupt the work of God's people. He loves to disrupt and hinder everything God's people do to bring Glory to the Lord. He will stop at nothing!

In the chapter of our text, we see Satan use his people to try to get in the middle of the work of God's people. However, in this instance, it didn't work. So next we see in our text, Ezra 4:4-5 NASB1995 Then the people of the land discouraged the people of Judah, and frightened them from building, and hired counselors against them to frustrate their counsel all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.

He attempted to cause them to be discouraged, and frightened. Then he offered counsel that was crafty and could confuse them in a manner they didn't recognize. This caused frustration among them and slowed the work but it didn't stop it.

Then he has his people write a letter to the governing authorities to have them stop the work of God's people. In this, he succeeds in stopping the work. However, only for a little while. If we fast forward we see God step in. Ezra 6:7 NASB1995 Leave this work on the house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews rebuild this house of God on its site.

In our lives, as we seek to live for the Lord, Satan is going to attempt to hinder us. However, let this text be a reminder of the Joy that comes with working for the Lord. Satan might hinder but God will keep us going. We must notice that the people were obedient to God and He rewarded them with the pleasure of seeing their work complete for the glory of God!

I know it is hard; I struggle with it too, but when Satan attempts to hinder you, just remember in the end, God will be glorified through your work if you are obedient.

Love Bro. Scott
