Judges 2:1 NASB1995 Now the angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim. And he said, “I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land which I have sworn to your fathers; and I said, ‘I will never break My covenant with you,

God had led Israel through the wilderness of Egypt. He led them away from the Army of Egypt through the Red Sea. He led them through the wilderness of Sinai. For 40 years even though they grumbled and begged to go back into slavery He led them. Even though the doubted and sinned by worshipping a man made idol, He led them. Even though they didn't trust Him to defeat the enemy, He led them. Even though they disobeyed, He led them. He punished them in their sin, and He blessed them in His righteousness, yet through it all He led them. Why did He do it? It is really very simple. God is a Covenant keeping God. Genesis 17:7-8 NASB1995 I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

God made a covenant with the Jews and He kept it! He still is today 4000 years later. Here is some great news for us. God also made a covenant with those who place their faith in Jesus. Hebrews 9:15 NASB1995 For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

God showed that He is faithful to keep His covenant to Israel and He is keeping His covenant with us today.

The Lord made it clear! "I will never break My covenant with you!"

He has proved this for 1000's of years why would we doubt Him now

Thank the Lord He is a covenant-keeping God.
