Psalm 119:9 NASB95 BETH. How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.

The word Beth is the second letter of the Hebrew alphabet and means house.

In other words, you can see the house name's origin.

Bethlehem is Beth (house) of Lehem (bread). Bethlehem is the house of bread.

Bethel is Beth (house) of El (God). Bethel is the house of God.

So, as I read this text, how can the house of a young man (also means servant) keep his way (life) pure (clean, clear like glass, and innocent)?

If you desire to keep your house, your family, and yourself, clean, clear, and innocent to the Lord, then you need to listen to the rest of this verse.

It says you can do this "By keeping it according to Your word." Your is capitalized showing it is speaking of God. So the answer is to live according to the Word of God.

If you are looking to keep your house this way, then it is obvious that not only should you be a servant to the Lord, your family, your friends, and all others, while in public, but also in the privacy of your home, according to His word. If you are a servant and keep God's word everywhere but at home, then your family will recognize that you are a fake. Eventually, your friends and all others will see this as well.

Then your house will not be pure and your life will not be clear. When people look at you they will see the muddy filth of sin.

Do you want your family who have resided in your home, to be pure? Then you must be pure. Do this by living according to God's word, even when you are at home!

Psalm 119:9 NASB95 BETH. How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.
