Ecclesiastes 8:17 NASB95 and I saw every work of God, I concluded that man cannot discover the work which has been done under the sun. Even though man should seek laboriously, he will not discover; and though the wise man should say, “I know,” he cannot discover.
This morning, I was reading a scientific article about discoveries made in the last several years that provide excellent examples of the Bible's accuracy regarding the creation of man. Discoveries that provide strong evidence for the truth of God and His Word. Science and its studies will never catch up to the omniscience of God. Yet mankind laboriously works to discredit God; he does so only to eventually come to a new realization that God knows all, is always true, and gave the truth to us in His word. I am not saying mankind should quit learning! What I am saying is that mankind must have a final authority, and that authority needs to be God's word. This only makes sense when we realize that God is God. This only makes sense when we realize that all knowing means there is no more that He can know.
I don't know about you but this makes me incredibly excited. The thought that God is so far ahead of man shows me how amazing He truly is. I don't want to worship a God whom I can catch up to. I don't want to worship a God who I am as smart as. I don't want to worship a God who I am as strong as. Praise the Lord I don't!
God is above all, He is far above all, He is unattainable, and He is beyond our ever-growing comprehension. Even if He tarries for millions of years and mankind continues to labor to comprehend Him we will find out that our scripture text today is still true.
He is truly unattainable. Therefore He sent His Son to open the Holy of Holies so even an undeserving, never good enough person like me can be provided a way into His presence!

This is the glorious God that we have. Although we can't discover, He comes and gets us anyway. If we will just live by faith instead of what we have discovered!
Praise the Lord. He makes Himself discoverable not by laborious work, but by faith in Jesus.
Now that is a discovery everyone needs to make!
