Hebrews 2:17 NASB1995 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

Are you tired and need rest? So was Jesus. He was so tired He was asleep in a boat during a storm. Matthew 8:24 NASB95 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep.

Are you hurting emotionally and physically? So was Jesus. When He went to pray in the garden, He was hurting emotionally. Scripture says He was grieved. It was so strong that physically He was in agony. Luke 22:44 NASB95 And being in agony He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground.

Do you feel like crying? So did Jesus. When a friend (Lazarus) died, even though Jesus knew He would bring him back, He had so much compassion for the family and love for His friend that John 11:35 NASB95 Jesus wept.

You see Jesus was made like you and me in ALL THINGS. God did this so that He could be the propitiation for our sin. He was already God but to be a merciful High Priest in sacrifice to God for the atonement of sin, He had to be made like us (man) in all ways. This includes struggles of the flesh with temptation. However, He had to do this without surrendering to sin. So, being guiltless, He was not deserving of death (the wages of sin), yet He freely took that wage, being merciful to us and faithful to God.

He completely understands how you feel. There is no emotional or physical suffering that you can experience that He is not able to say, "I have been there."

If you will faithfully repent and trust in Him, you can call out and say Jesus I am lost save me, He will say, " I am the merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God. I in all things, have come to where you are to show you the Way to the Father. Now come follow me."

Hebrews 2:18 NASB1995 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

Now that is a merciful and faithful Savior!

Love Bro. Scott
