2 Peter 1:20 NASB95 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation,
God's word is living and consistently teaching me things that I did not understand; however, it does not teach different things. The Word of God is unchanging. Although it will give understanding that is appropriate to the time in which we live this understanding will not change the interpretation of the scripture. For example, as we near the end of time, we will be given a better understanding of that time, but it will not change in any way the interpretation of the scriptures. Any time you have something that reveals to you a different interpretation of scripture than what the apostle taught it is not from God. God did not explain one thing to the people of the Old Testament and something different to the people of the New Testament. Genesis 3:15 meant Jesus would come of a woman and defeat Satan when Mose, by the guidance of God, first penned it, and it means the same thing now. Matthew 16:16-18 meant God would build His church upon the truth that Jesus is "the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
The text still means the same thing today. Revelation 22:7 means Jesus will return quickly in His time, and we should adhere to the words of His scripture. It still means the same thing today.
We cannot change the interpretation of the Scripture just because the world has changed. What was sin, is sin, what was righteous, is righteous and what the word meant, it still means! The world is filled with and readily available on the internet, plenty of brilliant people given a fool's ability to twist the truth into a lie that makes you question the truth. They are given this ability and fool wisdom by the Father of lies and the master of twisted scripture, Satan. It is imperative that we receive our scripture from the scripture and our interpretation from the same. There is no better way to interpret scripture than with scripture. The further we decay from God's design the more Satan will give us to cause doubt of the Truth. We must remember the truth is truth and will remain the truth. John 14:6 NASB95 — Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
Stick with the truth! It is found in scripture and the scriptures point to Jesus.
But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation,
Do you know this?
