Ephesians 2:22 NASB95 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

Over the next few days, the temperature is predicted to be extremely cold. During this time people will seek places of warmth to stay. They would not want to stay in a house that is missing two exterior walls and windows on the two walls that are there.

During the hottest days of summer, we desire places that are well-insulated and have a functioning air conditioner.

We would not dare go to a loved one's house tonight and remove the windows, would we? Of course, we wouldn't, because we care for them and desire them to be well protected from the elements.

Yet we actually do this to our Christian family quite regularly.

Very, very seldom is the entire church together. We meet on Sunday morning and night. We meet on Wednesday nights, and in the overwhelming majority of these meetings, we are missing windows, walls, portions of the roof, and have missing sections of the floor.

Now don't get me wrong, we meet in a beautiful building that keeps us safe from the elements of the weather. I instead am speaking of the body of Christ in which all Christians are a member, a part, a section of that building or house of our Lord.

When sections of the church are gone, it leaves giant gaps for the evil elements of the spiritual world to come in and wreak havoc. The wind of hurt blows through the openings. The freezing rain of jealousy falls through the gaps in the ceiling. The flood waters of lust rise up through the openings in the floor.

Because of the absence of certain sections of the church your loved ones are suffering more than normal.

Our text says, "you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit."

You are being BUILT TOGETHER into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

Try hammering two boards together when the nails are missing. Or attempt to glue the carpet to a non-existent floor. Hang curtains on a window when there is no wall. This just doesn't work.

The church is meant to be a building built out of every single member of the church. When even one is missing then there is a gap that lets Satan blow through and cause damage.

Was God speaking of the local church you are supposed to be a part of when He said: Ezekiel 22:30 NASB95 “I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.

Your church family is cold and God desires to build you into a dwelling. When we are not together we are both cold.

Have you been feeling the flucuation of the weather? If you have been hot one day, cold the next, and wet from rain in between, then you need to take up your spot in the church. Together God will build us into a beautiful dwelling place of God in the Spirit! There we will be in the warmth of the Son!

I don't know about you but I am tired of the cold. I pray everyone will be used in the church this week so there are no gaps!

Love Bro. Scott
