Nahum 2:10 NASB95 — She is emptied! Yes, she is desolate and waste! Hearts are melting and knees knocking! Also anguish is in the whole body And all their faces are grown pale!
Nahum speaks of the fall of Nineveh. The destruction reminds us of the coming demise of all who refuse to place their faith in Christ.
They will be emptied of all they have treasured. Just as the previous verse talks of their silver and gold being removed. People need to see from the Word of God that the treasures of this world are temporal.
This is something that Christians need to be reminded of also. Praising the Lord the Christians must remember they have great treasure stored in Heaven in the relationship they have with Jesus.
Unfortunately for those who refused to follow Christ. They will find themselves in desolation and waste when their temporal treasures are taken away. Their Hearts will melt away and their knees knock in fear when they lose all their treasure and enter with NOTHING into their eternal torture!
Some will experience examples of this on this side of eternity. The text says anguish is in the whole body And all their faces are grown pale.
My heart breaks for those who don't realize the fate they are or will experience because they refuse Jesus. However, just as Jonah warned Nineveh 150 years earlier, these people can be warned today, and hopefully, they will repent and place their faith in Christ.
Romans 10:13-17 NASB95 for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.” How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!” However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
So let's share with them the Gospel.
If we don't want them to be empty let's share the gospel with them so they can be full of the Holy Spirit. He is eternal, not temporal
