Luke 8:22 NASB95 Now on one of those days Jesus and His disciples got into a boat, and He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they launched out.

It is 2026 and many people will live this brand-new year just like they did in 2025. Nothing will change. Everything will be the same. This is how many people feel life should be. However, God desires us to be constantly changing or transforming each and every day more and more into the image of Christ. Romans 8:29 NASB9 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren.

Jesus didn't come to earth so we would stay the same. He came that we might be born again born anew. John 3:3 NASB95 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

If you desire to stay the same and not grow like Jesus then you will not follow Him to where He desires to take you. Our text says that Jesus told His disciples, "Let us go over to the other side." Now, Jesus was speaking at that moment on the Sea of Galilee. However, He also desires to take us across the sea of the abyss unto the house of the Father. John 14:3 NASB95 “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.

Jesus desires to take you to the other side. Yet many of His disciples today just want to stay put where they are. They are fearful of the Journey. Just like His Disciples, when the storm arose, they became fearful and cried to Jesus. We will perish on this journey. Of course Jesus calmed the sea and asked them in Luke 8:25 NASB95 And He said to them, “Where is your faith?” They were fearful and amazed, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him?”

Are you staying put because of your fear of the storms on the journey? Don't worry, just follow Him and He will take you to the other side. The Father is waiting with a place for you. Can you imagine how great it will be on that day when Jesus calls out like a trumpet blast, It's time, let's go to the other side! 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 NASB95 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

I pray this is a comfort and an encouragement to you. Don't be afraid of the journey, Jesus is changing you to bring you to the other side to remain with Him and the Father forever!

"Let us go over to the other side of the lake!” May 2026 be the year we are all ready!

Love Bro. Scott
