Revelation 2:3 NASB95 and you have perseverance and have endured for My name’s sake, and have not grown weary.

Perseverance is not a common value among people today. People tend to turn and seek a way out at the first sign of struggle. They mention Jesus, and they go quiet at the first sign of pushback. They would rather be in sin and at ease than to be righteous and have to endure. The truth is when living in a fallen world ruled by sin, all righteousness will result in a time of persecution with the possibility of prosecution. Any praise of Jesus will require endurance in the power of His name. Since perseverance is not a common trait and is not seen as being of value anymore, many will grow weary, not understanding the time and longsuffering of God. They will simply focus on their immediate struggle rather than on the eternal struggle of those who are lost. The only way to endure and not grow weary is to live in the way of our first love.

Think back to the moments of the salvation experience in your life. All you wanted was to be in the presence of Jesus 24-7. However, as the early church met daily for fellowship in Christ the church of today has forgotten its first love. Instead of looking at more opportunities to join together in praise and worship of God, we look for ways to diminish those times. The less we attempt to spend time together in Christ the more our love of Him will be forgotten. We start to grow weary and then desire to worship less.

We must not grow weary. We must endure in the perseverance of the name of Jesus.

Love Bro. Scott
