Obadiah 1:21 NASB95 The deliverers will ascend Mount Zion To judge the mountain of Esau, And the kingdom will be the LORD’S.
Reading the Headlines can be disheartening, but what if they weren't?

Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia ignite fires at oil facilities and wound 73 people.
Nepal cracks down on online abuse of flood survivors.
These are just a very small example of the many news headlines I came across today. It is so disheartening to watch or read the news. Then I look locally and see the sadness, brokenness, hurt, evil, and hate going on in communities in my area, and it hits even closer to home. We desire to blame politics and everything else for the mess going on, but the truth is the blame lies squarely on the shoulders of all mankind. It is the sin of man that has done and is doing this to the world.
In our text, Obadiah is finishing up his message from the Lord. God is using the Edomites as an example of what will happen to everyone who refuses Him and goes against His people. Edom, the descendants of Esau, settled in the area that today is Petra, Jordan. The area, which for many, many years has only been home to Bedouins, is now a tourist attraction. This shows the truth of Scripture, as the Edomites have been wiped out. Therefore, we know that the Edomites, who would not allow Israel to pass through their land, have suffered the fate that all people who refuse God will suffer.
Our text says deliverers will ascend Mount Zion To judge the mountain of Esau. The deliverers refer to those who will return with Christ to set up the Lord's new Kingdom. He will create a New Jerusalem, a new heaven, and a new earth. It will be populated by the followers of Christ. In this place, there will be no sin. It will be a place of righteousness, peace, joy, love, truth, glory, worship, humility, and praise. God will be in this place in all of His omni-attributes.
The text says, "And the kingdom will be the LORD’S."
How amazing this place will be! I can only imagine from scripture the headlines.
King of Kings and Lord of Lords Reigns forever.
God dwells among His people.
All things made new.
The Tree of Life returns.
Breaking News: Once again today, Multitudes of people from every tribe, tongue, and nation gather to worship the Lord. No one has been able to count the days since this started; it appears there is no end in sight!
This is where I desire to be. The sad thing is, we should experience a glimpse of this in church. However, because we refuse to completely follow God's words, we read real headlines like these from Lifeway.
