Luke 22:32 NASB95 but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”
I am amazed by the power of prayer. Jesus, who is the Son of God, prayed for Peter.
Knowing that Satan would put him through the trials of temptation and sorrow, Jesus prayed that Peter's faith would not fail him.
When we are tempted and broken in our flesh, we must rely on our faith in God. Our faith which is strengthened through our time spent with God and the exercise of it in service, is what we must rely on to bring us through the trials. If we have not fed and exercised our faith enough during the time spent with Jesus then it will fail us at the most important time.
Jesus knew this would be the case for Peter so what did He do? He prayed!
Jesus trusted so much in prayer that He told Peter, "when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” Once you come out of Satan's pressure cooker, and your faith has not failed you because of my prayer, then strengthen, (encourage) your brothers.
Do we trust in prayer, the way Jesus did?
Do we pray with the faith that Jesus did?
Do we feed and exercise our faith and put it to use in our prayers, the way Jesus did?
There is such strength in prayer. Especially when prayer is given in faith that has been strengthened in time spent with God. Prayer that has been strengthened in righteous living and obedience to God the Father through Jesus the Son.
If we have we can come out of our trials encouraging our brothers and sisters to pray in the strength of faith. This will also build their faith, and thus, it all continues.
Or does it end with you?
I have prayed this morning in faith that you will strengthen your faith. Then pray in faith and encourage others.
Praying your faith does not fail you in this time!
Also, I am praying that you are living by faith and not pride. Otherwise, your prayers are weak and not strong in faith.
Love Bro. Scott
