‭Daniel 10:10 Then behold, a hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.

Daniel had spent three weeks in mourning. People mourn in different ways but Daniel explains his mourning. He says he didn't eat tasty food or drink and he didn't use ointment. Basically, he didn't in anyway pamper himself. Instead, he spent his time in complete focus on the concern of his heart. The word we use for this type of focus is fasting. He removed himself from comfort to focus more clearly on what was his concern. Maybe this is one reason why we struggle so much to focus on God, we are too comfortable. As Daniel started to focus, God immediately dispatched a messenger to answer his question and reveal the answer to his concern. This teaches us when we truly seek God for answers, He will respond. Then He reveals why the answer didn't come immediately. Satan sent out demons to hinder the response of God. We sometimes feel as if God doesn't answer but when we earnestly seek Him, then He will respond. Also Satan can not stop God's response to us. One thing that we need to notice is how God responds. Our text says "A hand touched me." God's response is physical. The power of God is often represented by His hand. He powerfully but gently lifted Daniel from his mourning. Then look at how God placed Daniel. The text says "set me trembling on my hands and knees." God brought Daniel to a position of reverence. He didn't bring him to a position of standing representing Daniel's own strength but to a position of reverence. To show the strength of God. God's desire for us is to always bring us to reverence in Him. When we earnestly seek God He will respond in a physical way that shows His strength and picks us up to a place of reverence that reveals to us that He is our answer. Thank God that He responds to our needs and cares.
