Satan has successfully in this country and many others put people in a prison of debt while we are unaware. We are brought up with the thought that we must have the same things as others even when we can't afford them. So we go into debt to get these items of so-called pleasure. However, they are in actuality items of captivity. Satan makes people believe that they are bound when there is a key to immediate freedom. If we study the word of God we wouldn't get into this so-called prison in the first place. His word tells us, Proverbs 22:7 The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower becomes the lender’s slave.
Yet many like I have done in the past find themselves locked in debt and are looking and begging for the key to freedom. Our text today reveals the key. Micah 2:13 The breaker goes up before them; They break out, pass through the gate and go out by it. So their king goes on before them, And the Lord at their head.”
The key is in the hand of the breaker. This is a military term for the one who breaks His army free from captivity. Jesus the Messiah broke down the gates of sin's captivity when He paid the price for all sin on the cross. Sin no longer has the right to hold those who follow Christ. He then as King or ruler over death defeated it and came forth out of the grave. He made a way for all to be free if they will follow the Lord. He is the Lord their head, who tells and shows them the way to freedom. People, debt is a sin and a false prison to which God has paid the price. Don't make decisions based on your debt. It must be paid but God has broken through, defeated the prison, and made the way to freedom. So even though the debt must be paid don't let it be Lord of your life. Jesus should already be your Lord. Don't stay in a job that God has called you to leave because of debt and don't go to a job God has told you not to take because of debt. Doing so is making your debt your prison. Follow God and He will give you the way to freedom both from sin and finances. Love Bro. Scott
